I am a musician. I do all the things most musicians do: performing, writing, recording. Like most musicians I do what I do in a particular way, which is to say differently than other musicians (just as other musicians do things differently than me).
I am a member of the on again, off again collective of composers known as Chamber Graffiti, which released its first CD in 2006 and also play in Arkatzi, a guitar, percussion, sample, loops band. Mule is a duo that I'm writing less tecnology-based stuff for with bass trombonist Ken Read and whoever else we feel needs to be involved in order to fill out particular projects. I’ve written for dance, theatre, film, rock bands and contemporary music ensembles, all of which I continue to happily do and I am a member of the Boreal Electro Acoustic Music Society and The Edmonton Composers Concert Society.
This blog was created to talk about creating and music, and acts as one more place to talk about the function and importance of art and culture in our society. I think it’s fair to say that there can’t be enough of these kinds of things.
